Relaxation Techniques

Relaxing is very important during a cleanse. When our muscles are relaxed it allows for the easy passage fluids and fecal matter that we are flushing out of the colon.

Many of us have very stressful lives or jobs, not to mention the idea of inserting something rectally is not the most pleasant idea for many of us. So we need to focus on things that help us relax.

1. Long deep slow breaths 2. Listen to soft soothing music 3. Talk to someone (if you have someone like a professional assisting you) 4. This can help focus your mind on something else 5. 1. Yoga can be a great way to stay fit and relaxed. It’s not just for seniors. Give it a try. Even a good daily stretch can do wonders.   2. Find out what is troubling you in your life and look for ways to resolve the issue or learn to only focus on that problem when you need to. So don’t worry about things all day long.  3. Take naps. Sure, when was the last time many of us took a nap? But they aren’t just for children. A short nap can be a great boost during the way. You’ll wake up refreshed and rejuvenated.   4. Take up a hobby or find something you can really be passionate about. The joy you get from doing these things will spill over into other areas of your life and you’ll be all the happier for it.   5. If you have very long busy days, try to take a moment for yourself to catch your breath. It doesn’t need to be long, one minute will do fine. Just take a moment, close your eyes, take a nice few deep breaths and let go.  6. Spoil yourself and take a nice long warm (or hot, but within reason) bubble bath.  7. Stop relying on chemicals or stimulants for relief (e.g. coffee, soda, aspirin, etc.)  8. Take a day to surround yourself in nature. Parks are a good example.   9. Reward yourself when you accomplish an important goal. It’s the little everyday things that have a huge impact on us.   10. Treat yourself to a nice massage. You can ask your partner, a friend or make an appointment at a massage parlor.  11. Get a little extra sleep. Try and go to sleep a little earlier instead of staying up all night.

Now, these are just some general suggestions and there are sooo many more ways you can find that help you relax. Approach it honestly and sincerely and you’ll find in time you feel relaxed and a lot happier with yourself and life.
