It is essential to do a colonic once a day during bowel cleansing. When we do colon cleansing, all of the toxins are pushed out of the body, and excreted out. However, there isn't a 100% guarantee all toxins will be removed out. Some may stick around, and eventually go back up, and end up in our bloodstream.

We don't want this to happen, so it is absolutely important we either get a colonic, or administer an enema ourselves during the colon cleansing process. A colonic will:

  • Break down all toxins, wastes, and fecal matter that are stuck in the colon and intestinal wall
  • Strengthen and Smoothen the Colon. The introduction of water during a colonic will eliminate bulges and reverts it back to its natural shape.
  • Improve nutrient absorption
  • Reduce the pressure of the colon
  • Alleviate Constipation
  • Clear up your skin
  • Strengthens the digestive system
  • Energize your body
  • Lessen mucuous formation
  • Overall health improvement

What is a colonic?

A colonic is basically an enema for the colon. It is sometimes also known as colon hydrotherapy, or colon irrigation. It involves inserting a long tube inside the colon, where instilled water is introduced. This water circulates around the colon, loosening any fecal matter, and toxins.

The water also causes your large intestine to start peristalsis, which will eject all the fecal matter out of your rectum. It is not painful at all (some people have actually enjoyed the feeling!) A colonic is NOT surgery, it is just like a massage for the colon.

Though there isn't actually an official certification process, you can easily find a skilled person who can administer the colonic through your phone directory. Once you go there, the person will explain the details of the procedure to you. He/she will stick a tube inside your colon through the rectum, introduce water into it, while executing massaging so that fecal matter can be ejected easily.

The entire colonic takes just 35-40 minutes. It is recommended you do a full colon cleanse before the colonic, drink plenty of fluids, and eat very lightly prior to the appointment. After the colonic, you should take a lot of rest, eat very light foods, AVOID eating raw veggies for a few days, and take probiotics such as Latero-Flora to restore the good bacteria.

Is a colonic safe? Can it damage my colon?

A colonic is 100% safe. The equipment used is disinfected and clean. Colonics aren't habit-forming, and they do not damage the colon. The people conducting the colonic do it many times a day for many years - so you have no need to worry, or feel embarassed.

Are there are side effects?

A few of my friends report having loose bowels after a colonic, but it is never a major long-term problem. Most people can carry on with their normal lives afterwards. However, one other effect of a colonic is that good bacteria can be washed away. However, a colonic is still necessary because a clean colon encourages the flourishment of good bacteria. Once, the colon is clean, we can introduce probiotics.

How much does it cost?

It varies, but for me it costs $75 per session - a very low price to pay for good health.

How many do I need?

It's important you get at least one colonic after cleansing. Most of the time one is not enough. Remember, the toxins in our colon are the result of years of bad diet, and lifestyle. It's personally up to you how many colonics you want to get. That said, most people usually get 6 sessions of once a week. Afterwards, it's best to have a "maintenance colonic" once every 6 months or so.

Unless, you feel comfortable giving yourself an enema, for most people, a colonic is the safest, quickest way to eliminate all toxins.. Colonics are superior to enemas in that more water can be injected into the colon, which means colonics do a more thorough job of removing impurities and toxins.

Are colonics enough to cleanse the colon

Definitely no. Most if not all naturopathics will tell you that colonics or enemas must be used while taking a colon cleanser. Colon cleansing will remove all the toxins out of your body, and getting a colonic will ensure these toxins will not circulate back to your system. To do complete colon cleansing, take a colon cleanser like The Colonix Program while getting a series of colonics.
