What is Brain Fog?

It is not a recognized diagnosed disease with a conventional medical cure. Many blame brain fog to aging, but many younger people suffer from this ailment. Most do not seek treatment because they blame their symptoms on the stress of day-to-day living or signs of aging. This ailment could stem from nutritional deficiencies, neurotoxicity, chronic infection and chronic diseases.

* There is a lack of focus and concentrating is very difficult

What Are The Causes Of Brain Fog?

1. Adrenal fatigue syndrome. If the adrenal gland fails then key hormones can not regulate the body’s stress response. Adrenal fatigue syndrome causes brain fog symptoms because the body can not handle stress like it should.

2. Insomnia/Sleep Deprivation. When the body does not get and adequate amount of sleep, brain function is affected. This lack of sleep can cause depression, affect mood, cause anxiety and clouded thinking (brain fog).

3. Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). This syndrome is known to affect concentration, short-term memory and affects sleep. It can cause overwhelming fatigue.

4. Nutritional Deficiencies. When the body does not get the proper nutrients, brain function is affected. This deficiency can cause depression, lack of focus and attention deficit.

5. Candidiasis. An overgrowth of yeast can cause depression, mood swings, drowsiness or fatigue.

6. Autoimmune disorders. Fibromyalgia or multiple sclerosis (MS) affect the nervous system and can affect brain function. This disruption may result in fatigue, depression and anxiety.

7. Chronic viral infections. Epstein-Barr, Lyme disease, hepatitis, cytomegalovirus can reach the brain. These diseased can affect thinking and mood.

8. Parasitic organisms found in the brain. Infections like tapeworm can cause the symptoms of mental illness. Some parasitic infections outside the brain like giardia, trichinosis and Lyme disease can cause psychiatric symptoms.

9. Heavy metal toxicity. Aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury and many other metals are not excreted which causes a build-up and causes brain fog symptoms. 10. Reduced blood flow to the brain. If the brain does not get enough blood then brain function is disrupted. Thick blood also slows down blood flow to the brain.

11. Blood sugar issues. Ailments such as hypoglycemia and diabetes can cause blood sugar levels to become uncontrollable causing depression, anxiety, fatigue and clouded thinking.

12. Overuse of artificial sweeteners and MSG. Elements in these sweeteners like aspartame contain toxins to the brain and can affect brain function.

13. Food intolerances and allergies. Lactose and gluten intolerances have been known to disrupt brain function.

14. Leaky gut syndrome. If there are holes in the gut, some substances can get into the bloodstream and pass into the blood brain barrier. This can cause all the symptoms of brain fog.

15. Side effects of medications. Many medicines have side effects and drug interactions that could result in psychosis, depression, anxiety and many other symptoms related to brain for. Reading the label will help prevent getting any of these symptoms.

16. Constipation. When the body can not eliminate toxins from the body, bowel toxicity may occur. Brain fog happens because the digestive system is not effective in eliminating toxins from the body.

17. Menopause. When hormone levels fluctuate in the body, symptoms kike depression, unclear thinking and anxiety occur.

18. Sick building syndrome. Chemicals that are used from new carpets, paint, insulation and other types of construction may cause brain impairment to people who are sensitive or allergic to these chemicals.
